Claws N Paws offers urgent care services any time during normal business hours at our Columbia, MD animal hospital. Being prepared ahead of time can greatly increase the likelihood of a positive outcome for your loved one. If your pet suffers from an unexpected illness or injury, our highly skilled team is ready to step in and handle it effectively and efficiently.

Our veterinarians see the following types of pet emergencies:

• Choking
• Difficulty breathing
• Broken bones
• Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
• Persistent diarrhea or vomiting
• Bleeding
• Swollen abdomen
• Trauma
• Lameness
• Inability to urinate or defecate
• Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object
• Disorientation
• Extreme lethargy
• Sudden change in weight (gain or loss)
• Seizures or convulsions
• Loss of consciousness

If your pet experiences any of these symptoms, seek medical care immediately. If possible, please call ahead so that we can assess the situation, provide instructions over the phone, and prepare for your pet’s arrival.
