Kristen
Technician Supervisor
Kristin can’t remember a time when she wasn’t passionate about animals. She was always volunteering to bring home the classroom pet during grade school, and couldn’t get enough of biology and other science classes. The older she got, the more her fascination grew. Kristin has always known that she wanted to work hands-on to better the lives of pets! She gets to do just that as the Lead Veterinary Technician here at Claws N Paws Animal Hospital.
Kristin is an Anne Arundel County native and attended Anne Arundel Community College to obtain her Veterinary Assistant certification in 2009. She signed on as an Assistant in her very first vet clinic that same year. Kristin joined the team at another local hospital as a Technician in 2013, and joined the Claws N Paws Animal Hospital family in August of 2017 after having earned her Bachelor’s degree from Stevenson University earlier that year.
Having known Dr. Singh for many years, Kristen was happy to join forces with him once again here at Claws N Paws Animal Hospital. She loves to educate pet owners on the importance of preventative care, diagnostic testing, and other healthcare measures, and she also likes to meet a great variety of pet and human personalities on a daily basis.
Kristin’s interests outside of work include drawing, spending quality time with family, and enjoying the company of her own pets at home. She has two animal companions: Akira, who loves to dance for treats and hog the bed, and Sasha, whose favorite pastime is sitting on her mom’s feet for love and attention.

Autumn
Certified Veterinary Assistant
Autumn is driven by the moments in veterinary care that matter most—the ones filled with uncertainty, emotion, and hope. She found her place in this field through a desire to support both pets and their families during those critical times, where compassion and skill come together to truly make a difference. That mindset was shaped early on, growing up in a close-knit family where animals were always part of daily life and encouraged her natural instinct to care for others.
She joined Claws N Paws Animal Hospital in March 2026, bringing over three years of hands-on experience in both patient care and client support. In her role as a Certified Veterinary Assistant, Autumn focuses on helping animals feel safe and comfortable, especially during stressful visits. She also enjoys guiding pet owners through their questions, offering reassurance and building trust. Assisting with procedures allows her to stay engaged while continuing to grow her skills and knowledge every day.
One experience in particular has stayed with Autumn. A very sick dog was brought in, weak, dehydrated, and barely responsive. The situation was emotional for everyone involved. Over several days, Autumn helped monitor and care for the patient, watching closely as small signs of improvement began to appear. Seeing that dog regain strength and eventually return home healthy was a powerful reminder of why she chose this path. It reinforced her commitment to being part of life-changing moments, not just for the animals, but for the people who love them.
At home, Autumn is surrounded by a lively group of pets, each with their own personality. From playful dogs to talkative cats, her home reflects the same energy and connection she brings into her work. Those daily interactions continue to fuel her passion and remind her why this work matters.

Shayla
Veterinary Assistant
Like many of her colleagues, Shayla knew at a very early age that she wanted to work in the veterinary field. Growing up in Westminster, MD, she was actively involved in FFA, which also played a role in her career decision. As a veterinary assistant here at Claws N Paws, Shayla is living her lifelong dream and loving every minute!
Shayla’s journey began in high school with an internship at another local vet clinic. In 2019, she began working as a kennel technician, a role that she held until August of 2021, when she joined the Claws N Paws team. Professionally, she enjoys being able to help our patients live happier, healthier lives and support their loving owners in any way she can.
At home, Shayla has five fur-babies of her own, including a boxer named Raven, a great Pyrenees named Mya, a yorkie named Milo, and two cats named Millie and Gabby.

Alina
Veterinary Technician
Alina did not step into veterinary medicine through a single decision. Instead, it grew through experience, skill by skill, each one reinforcing that she was exactly where she was meant to be. What began in 2018 at a dog training and boarding facility quickly became something more. The more she learned, the more confident and curious she became, and with each new skill, her commitment to working with animals only strengthened.
An early turning point came when Alina applied for a receptionist position, hoping to use her background in office management. Instead, she was offered a trained veterinary assistant role. That opportunity shifted everything. It placed her directly in the hands-on environment she would grow to love, allowing her to develop technical skills, expand her knowledge, and learn how to better support both patients and clients. Over time, she gained experience in different hospitals, building a well-rounded understanding of veterinary care.
Alina joined Claws N Paws Animal Hospital in April 2025, drawn to the calm and organized environment. In her role as a Veterinary Technician, she assists doctors during appointments, helps collect patient histories, and keeps the flow of each visit running smoothly. She enjoys connecting with clients and values making sure they leave feeling heard, understood, and informed. At the same time, she thrives in the hands-on aspects of her work, where focus, teamwork, and precision all come together to provide safe and effective care.
Originally from Yekaterinburg, Russia, Alina was adopted as an infant and raised in Baltimore alongside her family. Her connection to animals started early, from her childhood dog to her first pet fish. Today, her home reflects that same passion, shared with her partner, their pets, and a lively mix of personalities that keep every day interesting.
