New Year’s Resolutions Inspired By Dogs

January 1, 2020
Happy New Year! Are you setting goals for yourself for 2020? If so, you may have an unexpected source of inspiration right at your feet: your dog. As it turns out, there are quite a few things we can learn from our canine pals! Read on as a Columbia, MD vet lists some resolutions inspired by Man’s Best Friend.

Get Plenty of Exercise

Getting fit and losing weight are probably the two most popular resolutions people make each year. Proper activity is great for both you and your pet! The key is to do something you enjoy, and make time for it every day. Even a few minutes a day is better than nothing. Carpe diem!

Have Fun

Dogs are always adorable, but somehow they’re never more charming than when they are bounding after their favorite ball or just generally being goofy. Pups aren’t worried about what they look like when they’re chasing their tails or frolicking in the water from a sprinkler. They’re too busy enjoying themselves! Take a cue from your furry best friend, and carve out some time for having fun this year.

Be Curious

Man’s Best Friend is definitely very curious about things. (Actually, Fido may be a bit too curious at times, but that’s another topic.) Your canine companion will gladly explore any new place you take him to, with tail wags and that adorable happy-dog expression. Go somewhere new in 2020!

Stay Loyal

Fido has definitely earned the title of Man’s Best Friend. Your furry buddy will stay faithfully by your side over the coming year, no matter what curveballs life throws at you. Stay true to those who have been good to you.

Smell The Roses

We know, our four-legged friends won’t just stop to smell the roses: they’ll sniff at every leaf, twig, and blade of grass around them. However, that’s beside the point. Remember to appreciate life’s simple pleasures.

Be Affectionate

Our canine companions definitely have a special way of reaching our hearts. Fido shows his affection in some pretty adorable ways, such as wagging his tail, jumping for joy to see you, or even just quietly hanging out with you. Show your loved ones that you care.
