Signs That Your Cat is Happy

Kitties are notoriously enigmatic little furballs. Fluffy bites affectionately, ignores us when we call her, and can be pretty standoffish about being petted. How do you tell if your cat is happy? A Ellicott City, MD vet offers some clues in this article.

Purrs

Cats have many adorable traits, but one of the cutest ones is the fact that they purr when they are content. If Fluffy runs her engine a lot, she’s probably not unhappy.

Cuddles

Does your feline buddy sometimes meow to be picked up? Does Fluffy start purring as soon as you pet her? She’s probably pretty pleased with the care you give her!

Smug Look

Cats are very, very good at looking pleased with themselves. That adorable smug look kitties do so well is another thumbs-up for you.

Friskiness

Happy cats are frisky cats, especially when they are young. If Fluffy is playful, curious, or even a bit nosy, you’re being a good pet parent!

Using You As Furniture

Purrs aren’t the only way kitties show affection. Fluffy may rub against your legs, blink slowly when she looks at you, or follow you around. Some cats even let their humans rub their bellies!

Good Appetite
